Río Castañeda- Guthreau (b. 1999, México City) immigrated to the District of Columbia in 2014, and graduated high school from Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

They graduated in May 2021 from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2017 with a BFA in Animation and Departmental Honors.
